Vancouver hit-and-run leaves pedestrian with life-threatening injuries

Victim suffered serious head injuries after being struck by vehicle while crossing East 41st. Ave at Fraser St.

A pedestrian is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a hit-and-run collision in East Vancouver this morning.

Vancouver police say the incident happened at 6:25 a.m.

A 30-year-old man was struck by a westbound vehicle while crossing East 41st Avenue at Fraser Street.

The driver fled without stopping.

The victim suffered serious head injuries.

“Although it’s early in the investigation, we believe the suspect’s vehicle is either a black pickup truck or black SUV,” said VPD spokesperson Const. Tania Visintin. “We need anyone with information or dash cam footage to call police.”

Witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage are asked to call the VPD at 604-717-3012.
