Police in Quebec City arrested a male suspect early Sunday morning after stabbings left at least two dead and at least five injured, according to Radio-Canada.
Police said late Saturday they were hunting for a man dressed in medieval clothing and armed with a bladed weapon who has left “multiple victims.” Police said it happened near the national assembly and are asking those in the area to stay indoors.
Police said five victims have been transported to a local hospital, however, there was no immediate word on their conditions.
Spokesperson Etienne Doyon said, “It remains to be determined, but these are serious attacks.”
Anyone with further information about the incident is being urged to call 911.
