The Burger Heaven election poll has been a New Westminster tradition for 30 years.
The first ‘bun-official’ Burger Heaven poll is out and it looks like voters relish the NDP while the Liberals may be in a bit of pickle.
Burger Heaven, which is located in New Westminster where the New Westminster-Burnaby MP is a New Democrat, has been conducting an unofficial poll using burgers for provincial and federal elections for 30 years.
Diners can order a burger that aligns with the leader they flavour.
So far, the New Democrats are on a roll, with 30 per cent of patrons choosing the Jagmeet Singh Burger. Trying to “ketchup” to the NDP is the Conservative Erin O’Toole Burger, which 19 per cent of patrons voted for with their burger selection.
Close behind is the Green Annamie Paul Burger at 18 per cent.
It doesn’t appear that there’s much of a political appetite, in this riding at least, for the Liberal Trudeau Burger (12 per cent) or the PPC Bernier Burger (10 per cent – incidentally the same percentage of patrons who chose the “Bun-decided Burger.)
Another burger poll is expected next week so stay tuned to see if the NDP continues to be a big dill or whether the Liberals can meat the challenge.
