The library now has a computer lab where several new technology workshops can be given. As well, filmmakers can use a room to shoot their videos on a green screen.

The youth section, which was expanded by 200 square feet, features an enchanted tree (pictured) for young readers to use. There’s also a comic book corner, a multimedia corner, a corner for toddlers as well as work tables for connecting electronic devices.

The federal and provincial governments each contributed nearly $1.3 million to the library renovation project, while Dollard’s share was $3.9 million.

Dollard, which has a population of 50,300, is proud to offer a state-of-the-art library to its residents, noted Mayor Alex Bottausci.

“Council is excited to offer a well-designed space to Dollard-des-Ormeaux residents where they can come to work, create and learn in a comfortable, inviting and inspiring environment for years to come. It is a reflection of our vision for our city: Work, live, play.”
