Africa: Covid-19 Death Toll Nears 87,000 as Total Cases Exceed 3,4 Million

Cape Town — As of January 27, confirmed cases of Covid-19 from 55 African countries reached 3,475,174.

Reported deaths in Africa reached 86,972 and 2,948,402 people have recovered. South Africa has the most reported cases – 1,423,578 – and 41,797 people died. Other most-affected countries are Morocco (467,493), Tunisia (200,662), Egypt (163,129), Ethiopia (134,569), and Nigeria (124,299).
